Conflicting references on lecithin impact on human microbiome
[edit]While Reference 13 (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33250870/%7C) states that microbiome disturbance is more affected by emulsifier strength than type, implying that lecithin is also disruptive, Reference 14 (https://microbiomejournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s40168-020-00996) found that lecithin did not significantly affect the microbiome model used in the study. The article section on properties and applications should better summarize the conflicting evidence than simply focusing on the conclusion from Reference 13. 136.158.10.50 (talk) 11:10, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- Those primary sources are unreliable, the first source you link to is a Frontiers journal. They have been removed. Psychologist Guy (talk) 20:32, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
Under "food additive" this article states "see reference above to recent research regarding the negative effects of emulsifiers on the human gut". However I cannot find any such reference. Assume this is related to the previous topic on conflicting evidence. Could this cross-ref also be removed if so?
Is there any reason that the primary source is not considered reliable - apart from it being i a Frontiers journal? While I understand concerns about Frontiers, it is wrong to discount a paper on the basis of the journal it is published in; the decision should be based on the merit of the paper itself. 86.4.186.247 (talk) 21:35, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
